Snow, Cookies, Parties... Ahhh the American Life

Hello! We have been pretty busy with the happenings of the past couple of weeks, therefore, I am going to put three posts into one.  This way we'll be all caught up and rolling. About three-ish weeks ago we had an enormous amount of snow (for Huntsville, that is). At our house, it measured around 9 inches or so.  We thought we had a lot over Christmas (4 inches) but we were definitely surprised to see that we averaged about that amount in only 3 hours this go around! Caits had a blast for about the first 15 minutes of being outside -haha. It was too cold for her. Her first comment upon seeing each of the snows this winter has been, "It's so messy." She makes me laugh so much! Here is proof that we really can get some snow in Alabama:

Cookies, cookies, cookies...

So I'm considering starting a cookie business. I haven't fully decided that it's a "go." (I think I need to recover from the 50 cookies I made and decorated for Caits party.) Ive been practicing:

About a month ago, we had a reunion with some sweet friends from one of our classes we took over the fall-spring of '09-'10. I though I would try some themed cookies for the get-together. The class, entitled, Intimate Encounters is a class for married couples and I highly recommend it! Under this sections are some pictures of the book, then my cookies (to show why the theme was chosen). Everyone got a kick out of them. It was super fun!

Let's Party!

The next big event was Catilyn's 2-year party! I will join with every other mother in saying- time sure has flown by! Although, I'm still close enough to remember all the loooooong sleepless nights of nursing and sickness and just typical baby schedules. So, in a way, I feel as though it has flown by. In another way, I remember so clearly how many hours it's been...  We had a princess party this year! She loves princesses. We rented a fun playroom at a church recreational center. There were lots of things for the kids to run and play on and with. Along with that, we had fun "princess" stuff to do. We painted finger nails, colored princesses, made bracelets, and dressed up in crowns, earrings, and rings. The guests had a blast- and so did Caitlyn! I asked her if she had fun and she replied, "Everybody sing Happy Birthday Caitlyn all together!" She also talked about how each of her friends and cousins were there. I am so grateful to the Lord for blessing us with this precious little girl and pray she will grow up to follow Him and glorify His name in all she does!
